Life is a Balancing Act

Aura photos tell much about balance in a person's life.  If all the energy shows up on the right side of the person, that person is spending the majority of the energy available focused into job or something outside the self.  If all the energy is on the left side (this happens rarely), the person is focusing the energy inwardly.

Balance comes when when giving and receiving are both present; when doing and being are both important; when job and inner focus both share the spotlight.  So how do we create this balance?

I start every day by asking, "What is the Highest and Best way I can use my energy today?"  This is a question I ask my soul.  This question directs my day so that I spend my energy in a way that furthers the reason I am here.  This is a bit more tricky when you have a job that requires you to be there at a certain time and leave at a certain time.  Still, you can look at the tasks before you and ask where to spend your energy.  Perhaps this is not the best day to call a client.  Perhaps you are not focused enough today to do certain kinds of paperwork.  There may be a voice inside you that says, "But, that has to be done today!."  Listening to that voice creates stress.  When that deep inner voice says you can wait, it's amazing how circumstances converge so that it didn't have to be done today!.  Trusting that voice is tricky.  But, how many times have you said after the fact, "I should have listened.  I knew I wasn't to do that today!"

One of the reasons I emphasize using complementary colors while breathing into the energy centers in the body is to create balance.  When the energy is balanced, fear subsides long enough to look at what is causing this unsettled feeling.  For example:  John is worrying about not having enough money to pay his bills.  Any way he looks at it, there isn't enough money there to do it all.  His brain goes into overdrive striving to come up with a solution.  This kind of worry usually resides in the area near the end of the spine.  It can cause pain in the lower spine are in the back. It can cause aching in the hip joints that runs down into the legs.  Worry about money can shake a person's foundation.

If John were to breathe green into this lower spine area and breathe out some of the red that has accumulated there, this would act like a pressure cooker releasing some of its steam.  Now John can settle into himself, feel is foundation firmly in place, and allow the heart energy to speak to him of a different kind of solution.  He may then be able to look at how he spends his money or why he sabotages himself every time he seems to get caught up.  Owning up to the patterns that keep him focused on money problems may allow him to look at himself in a new way.  Since transformation is brought about through a change in perception, John now has an opportunity to shift how he sees what he does and what he draws to himself.  I recommend that you work with my CD "Harmony through Color" to learn how to breathe the complementary colors into the energy centers of the body.  I do this every morning before I get out of bed.  That way I start the day balanced.

Sometimes our patterns are so deep seated that we need a number of opportunities to see things in a new light.  Try placing our complementary colored energy bags on the various centers on the body.  This can create balance.  Putting a few drops of our complementary color flower and gem essences in water that you drink can bring balance.

Once the balance in the energy center is established, read the chapter in the "ColorCards" for the two colors.  Look at what you might be learning from any imbalance that was present.  John may notice that "burnout" is one of the lessons in red.  Has he worked so hard he can no longer think clearly?  Has he failed to take care of his health because he has been so focused on accomplishing the impossible?  Or perhaps he has allowed anger and frustration to tie him in knots, shutting out any sense of relaxation and renewal.  Considering the information in the chapter may help John to look at his life from a new perspective.

Whatever way you use to create balance in your life will be so valuable for your sense of well-being.  Without balance it's difficult to be present in this moment.  When there is no focus here and now, there is no awareness of the body through the senses.  It's as if you aren't really there.  You are probably so focused in the mind that the body doesn't even exist.  

We are responsible for this body suit we live in.  It will serve us well if we take care of it.  But if we ignore or bypass its needs, it will soon let us know through pain and more.  After all we are body, mind, and spirit.  All are important.

Find what brings balance to your life.  Make that a daily practice.  If it's exercise, make it a priority.  If its meditating, don't let the mind talk you out of that special time.  If it's spending time in nature, know that the time you spend there is not optional.  It is vital to your health and well being.  Often you will accomplish more because you chose to honor balance in your life.
